Almost the Weekend - Lots to look Forward to...

I did some food prep yesterday so I should be set for this weekend's meals.

I'm running with the ladies Saturday morning; our first all together since the week before Christmas... It will be good to be back on a schedule.

My short term goal for the second half of January is to get a haircut and make it to the gym 2x week for actual cardio; not just walking on the treadmill. And then there's YOGA.

I'm going to Kripalu at the end of February (a birthday gift from my sister) so I am determined to get to a yoga class and really try to like it more than I have...I don't know what it is exactly though I have a few guesses. I have a hard time staying present; some of the poses hurt; are too hard to hold; make me dizzy... or at least that was my last experience... I need to try again. I KNOW it's good for me in so many ways...

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kripalu. It's really an opportunity to disconnect from real life... We put our cell phones in the safe for two days. If anyone really needs us - they can call Kripalu. We stay in the dorm,  we've always had some fun room mates; the bedding is so comfortable (yes, a bunkbed!). We try everything! The grounds are beautiful - even in the dead of winter. The hot tub is huge and hot and magical. Last year the windows were open, there were icicles and fog and sigh... Oh, and the yoga teachers are wonderful, supportive, caring. They all seem to possess this inner peace that is contagious.

Obviously the best part of Kripalu is the food. SO GOOD; and I usually come home with a few new recipes... Five weeks away...

But this weekend it's FOOTBALL. Yes, I love our Patriots!!

Wow, excited for you to go to Kripalu and also a touch jealous, it sounds really wonderful!

Do you remember which poses are the ones that hurt, and where/how? If you want to talk through it, I'm sure I can help. If you don't, just remember - you should never feel pain. Back out of a pose if it hurts, or see if you can modify where your hands or feet are so as to eliminate the pain. Don't do it if it hurts! Using props is NOT cheating, it's still "real yoga." Talk to me :)
