Weigh in Day and Weighing in...

I am sick and in disbelief. I've been up all night checking my phone and now I'm just exhausted and disappointed; and worried and .... I honestly can't stand to utter President ... let alone listen to him for the next 4 years... What will become of this country?!

And we're going to Trumpland tomorrow. MEH.

I knew I'd have to face the scale this morning and yet last night I munched down 2 bags of veggie straws, and a smoothie (milk, banana, protein powder) as I watched the election returns until the wee hours.

In spite of this, I managed a loss (albeit small - and YES, I need a pedicure). For this I am grateful.

Four straight weeks of losses with a total of 7.1 pounds gone. Next week I'll post pictures along with the scale to mark one full month (as I technically started this latest challenge October 12). I have logged my food in MFP and continue to strive for an average of 12K steps/day. This morning I went out without my FITBIT (grumble) and walked 4 miles at the gym while waiting and watching Hillary's speech. I came home and walked the dog with the FITBIT before the rain so I can see that I've hit the numbers - even though I know I've done the work. Stupid? Perhaps... I'm at 9,006 steps... I've got time...

Tomorrow I'll be sitting in the car for 10 hours. I'm trying to figure out how to get 10K - I think I'll go for an extra walk in the morning and make sure when we hit the rest stops I'm parked far from the door... As for my goals this weekend - I'm reverting to what worked 2 years ago... Don't eat anything without a protein (a piece of meat); nothing white (potatoes, bread, rice...); nothing sweet (including fruit). Eat only when hungry and above all - NO NUTS!!! They are a weakness - like chips are for other people... I just can't stop...

I'm not banning alcohol (after all I'm off to the in-laws so I need some sort of treat... ) Hopefully it won't be as bad as I'm envisioning. Deep breathing, meditation and a hotel treadmill...
