Monday, A New Week!

The kids are back in school. DH is at his office. All is as it should be... I started a rant about the amount of work ahead for teen's graduation party, a visit from the in-laws (first time ever) and the crap around the house that needs repair or replacement... and I stopped. One step at a time and it will get done - or it won't; and life goes on...

This week I want to focus fully on running, doing intentional training for the 5 miler at the end of May. I ran/walked with the girls Saturday morning and I felt a bit sluggish. My back is still tweaked and the vacation recovery not quite over. I went to yoga Friday and Sunday - Yin Yoga which is a style where you focus on stretching the fascia - holding poses "with sensation bordering discomfort" for several minutes. It is challenging from a mental standpoint, and I think it was good for me. I'll add a flow class this week to balance out the running.

Also on my plate, I have 3 more grad classes left of the semester. Two small assignments and one big paper. No stress.

And the diet.

I ate decently this weekend and just slightly over my calories; slightly under my protein goals. It was hard - it was my birthday and the family wanted to take me out. I had a few vodka sodas, but NO CAKE!  Nothing sweet. That it really good for me. I'm doing my best to kick sugar!  I go back to the doctor on May 19th. She's suggested that I continue the best I can on this plan - no sugar, fruit, whole foods, no gluten, limited dairy... She would like me to lose an additional 5 pounds to 190, but thinks if I'm focused I could do more. She wants to see if the change in diet + weight off will effect my thyroid numbers so we can leave the meds where they are. If not, we'll have to switch things up. My hope is that in a month I could lose 10 lbs. Given the way I typically lose, it's probably a long shot - but we'll see...

For now I'll keep the faith and doing what I'm doing!

My track record shows I will not be losing 10 pounds in a month. LOL

Good luck with the training.
