Take that!

Yup, snowing. I woke up to the white stuff and temperatures in the 20s. I pulled on the thermal tights, my daughters sports bra - a complete accident and at least a size smaller than mine. (My boobs were going nowhere.) I let the dogs out while I warmed up the car (we're babysitting the neighbors lab) and got out of town before 5:30 a.m. My sister lives close to an hour away and yet nearly every Saturday morning we get together for a run or to train for something (triathlon, PanMass). There was a lot of talk last night about whether we would run or opt for yoga. Part of me was hoping for the latter since it was snowing, cold and I haven't run since January, but my sister made the executive decision that we would do our regular 5 mile loop however we could. I am happy to say that I ran at least 3/4 of it, just a few short walk breaks (mostly to scrape the snow off the soles of my shoes!). There are 5 of us girls - speedy Laura, slower Chris and the sisters (oldest, youngest and me - middle). I actually finished second today. I didn't do run keeper and I have no idea of paces and times, but I finished 5 miles and that's great! I love how I feel when I'm done - I wish I could harness this feeling and refer to it on days I have low mojo.

Home by 11, ate 3 eggs and (boo) cheese and a mango which was perfect. I'm on my 5th or 6th cup of coffee and other than house chores, I've got nothing planned. The DH wants to go out to eat tonight, which is fine except that he wants to go far away and spend a lot of money. We have to be around for ride duty and we should be conserving for vacation in less than a month. I hope we can come to some agreement and enjoy the night. We really need to have some private time to reconnect and talk about  things other than his job and the kids.

So Winter TAKE THAT! We're back running, snow or no snow!
