Underestimating OKL

OKL is NOT easy. Let's just say I have no idea what foods have the most carbs. Asparagus has a lot. I tried to wing it this weekend and failed miserably. If I'm really do this right I need to plan. I can eat 25 carbs without trying! And here I was so smug cuz I don't eat bread....

I may break down and get some Stevia or xylitol - It's the little things like my morning or evening yogurt when I crave something sweet. Lattes definitely have to go - milk has too many carbs! I have to switch entirely to almond milk and make my own iced coffee. Sorry Dunkin Donuts; sorry Starbucks.

I ran with the sisters this weekend and it felt pretty good. The knee is only about 75%, but it seems to get a little better every day. I am getting the bike out today!! I wanted to go yesterday, but we got on a roll with the yard and basement... I think the DH was keeping busy because his mom is sick and he's feeling a little conflicted about whether he should go home right now or wait... It's hard to know, but what ever he wants to do I'll support and that's all I can say. The kids were busy and irritating all the same. An expectation that whatever they want to do requires us parents to step up with a wallet and chariot needs to be squashed hard and now. The teen thinks getting her license is the end to this nonsense and she'll be free to do what she wants... Silly girl with no job...

9 MORE DAYS and NO SCHOOL!  I can't convey how sick I am of getting everyone up in the morning. Bitchy girls are no way to start the day. Soon they can sleep in at least an extra hour. I can do my thing, go to work early and only have to worry about mid morning rides... HEAVEN. I also have almost 4 kid free weeks this summer. I love my children, but they can suck the life right out of me some days. I need to miss them.

For this week:
MENUS FOR OKL
LOG FOOD - find the hidden carbs...
Bike, Body Pump, SPIN!

Was wondering how you were doing, thanks for the update! Yeah, give yourself time to transition. There's a learning curve. For me it lasted about a year LOL. I'm sure you'll do much much much better than that! Now I even side-eye the carbs in half-n-half. Crazy, right?! But it's working.

I don't envy you having to wake up crabby teens. Definitely excited you'll be getting some time off from full-time parenting this summer. We all need it. Hello, sanity?! Thankfully my SD is now 26 but I remember those bitchy days well. Glad they are BEHIND me.

I am jealous of your independence! A year huh... It's a journey for sure, but well worth the effort!!
