I Couldn't Make This S$%t Up...

So much for drama-free weekends.

Teen lied to me (no surprise). I said she could go out Friday night if I met the guy (a supposed friend of a friend), if I knew where she was going, and if she was home by 11:00 p.m. Fine. The guy was 2 hours late. I met him, but I thought he was creepy and he didn't like our dog... Teen was excited to go and... I took a pic of his license plate as they pulled away (trusted my inner "ick" feeling).

Fast forward.... Teens phone battery dead by 9:30, she's not where she's supposed to be and is not responding to my texts. By 1:00 a.m. I decided to call the Police. At 6:00 a.m. I called my connections, sent messages to her friends and tried to keep it together. We discovered that the guy lived 2 hours away, was someone she met on the internet, and was 29, not 19. He had a criminal history. Sick. She called at noon; she came home at 3. She didn't know what the big deal was.... We went to the Police Department so that they could explain the big deal. Her phone and all her electronics are gone until....

Yup. This poor girl wants a boyfriend so bad. She had no idea who this person was or his true motives. I know she's hurting... and I'm pissed at her for doing something so reckless and inconsiderate. And I love her so much. She has no idea. What do you do?

The little one and I are on DAY 4 of WHOLE30. It's easy to follow when you can't eat because your stomach is in knots.

WOW, what a Friday/Saturday for you! I am so, so sorry. Really tough to try to understand her being so disconnected. Thank goodness you got a photo of the license plate! Thinking of you both and sending positive thoughts.
