Dressing for Success

I have to go to a wake today, so I had to wear something nice - a dress, boots, straightened my hair, put on make up. It didn't take much longer than it does to throw on jeans, bulky sweater, boots and put my hair in a ponytail...So why don't I dress thoughtfully more often?

I know I feel better when I'm put together. No awkward moments in the grocery store as you pretend not to see your kid's teacher or THAT mom who's always runway ready...

Yoga pants do not have to be my "off work" uniform.

I know I HATE the size I am right now. I don't want to buy clothes that I intend never to fit into again. But I can't feel good wearing pilly sweaters and the same 2 pairs of jeans all week for the rest of the winter.

My NON-FOOD goal is to thoughtfully dress (hair, makeup, accessories) twice a week. It will be an easy goal this week since I have the wake today and the funeral tomorrow. The trick will be to carry it forward. If I look better, I feel better and maybe that will carry through with the food choices I make.

It's worth a try.
